Cut once,
kept forever.
Custom made woodcrafted products to last a lifetime.
No two boards leave the shop the same.
Wood species, layout, and finish are chosen board by board. A sample of what's come off the bench lately.
This is a fraction of what's left the shop. Commissions have ranged from wedding gifts to corporate orders.

Every board starts as rough lumber, hand-selected for grain and color. Mix species for contrast, or keep it simple.
Walnut
Deep chocolate brown, tight grain, ages beautifully.
Cherry
Warm amber-red that darkens with light over time.
Maple
Pale and dense, the classic butcher-block wood.
Ash
Light, straight grain with bold contrast lines.
Purpleheart
Vivid violet-brown heartwood, one of a kind.
Live Edge
Natural bark-edge slabs, no two shaped alike.
A family shop, twenty-some years in.
Iron Shed Woodworks is a small, family-owned woodworking shop based in New Jersey. What started as a hobby has grown into a shop that builds custom cutting boards, charcuterie boards, and live-edge pieces meant to last a lifetime, not end up in a landfill.
Every board is cut, glued, sanded, and finished by hand in our shop. No outsourcing, no mass production, and no two boards exactly alike.
From rough lumber to heirloom.
No storefront, no checkout cart. Just tell us what you're picturing and we'll build it. Every order travels through the shop in three stages.
Tell us what you need
Fill out the request form with your occasion, rough size, and any wood you like. A photo of something similar helps too.
We plan the board
We follow up on species, layout, and engraving, then confirm price and timeline before a single board hits the saw.
Handbuilt, then shipped
Cut, glued, sanded, and oiled by hand, then carefully packed and tied off, ready for your kitchen or a gift box.
Let's build your board.
Tell us the occasion, the wood, and what you'd like engraved. We'll follow up personally to talk through details, pricing, and timeline.
